Three words changed
everything.
Not a tagline. Something a customer said in person on a job site — and the reason Integrity Wood Care exists.
That’s what a homeowner said before we started a job. Three words that set the bar for every estimate, every job, every follow-up we do.
15 years in tech. One hurricane. A week between a layoff and an LLC.
Before Integrity Wood Care, Michael Griffin spent 15 years in technology sales and services — working for a small business, a global distributor, and a telecom expense management company. His entire career was built on understanding systems, setting clear expectations, and making sure clients got what they were promised.
Then Hurricane Helene hit Upstate SC. Like thousands of homeowners, Michael needed work done on his property afterward. What he found when he started looking for help was a near-universal experience: contractors who didn’t show up, didn’t communicate, and didn’t do the work right when they finally did.
That experience planted the seed. In April 2025, Michael was laid off. The following week, Integrity Wood Care, LLC was filed.
Not because the timing was perfect — it wasn’t. But because the problem was real, the gap was obvious, and fifteen years of watching how good service actually works made it impossible to ignore.
A tech background in a trade business.
Most contractors in this trade are excellent with their hands and not with their phones. We flipped that stereotype — professional-grade communication, fast accurate estimates, and the kind of follow-through that used to be reserved for corporate clients.
Estimates that are actually accurate
We calculate materials, labor, and costs precisely before quoting — not ballparking based on gut feel. You get a number you can plan around, not a surprise when the invoice comes.
Communication that doesn’t drop off
You hear from us before the job, the day of, and after it’s done. Automatic updates, manual check-ins, photos when we’re finished. No chasing, no silence.
Expectations set upfront
We tell you exactly what we’re going to do, when, and what it will cost before work begins. If something changes, you know immediately — not in the final invoice.
Respect for your property
We mask plants, protect surrounding surfaces, and leave the job site cleaner than we found it. Your neighbors notice too — in a good way.
We don’t overwhelm you with decisions
You tell us what you need. We tell you what it costs. We do the work. One of the most common things we hear from new customers is that they chose us because another contractor was “all over the place” with options. We keep it simple on purpose.
The deck the pressure washer couldn’t fix.
The homeowner’s house was painted in a blue with organic pigment — extremely sensitive to environmental conditions. When the pressure washing company tried to clean the deck, normal methods and chemicals weren’t an option. The deck came out rough. The homeowner lowered her expectations and figured the best she could hope for was something presentable.
We fully sanded the deck by hand to open the grain evenly, then applied stain in sections to ensure consistent penetration across every board. No shortcuts, no rushing.
In their own words.
Built on the right foundation.
